Lioness receives biopsy

Trailer ready to go
PrideRock Wildlife Refuge (PRWR) staff and volunteers monitor its residents daily, checking for illness or injury.  PRWR had been keeping an eye on a growth on Allie's second eyelid for some time. Allie is one of only four lioness at PrideRock and is a very treasured and loved girl. So, PRWR staff decided it was time to take Allie to the veterinarian for a tissue biopsy. On October 20, Allie was loaded into a travel crate and then rolled into a livestock trailer. Allie was driven to the Terrell Animal Clinic  for an examination and biopsy by Dr. B.
After Allie returned to PrideRock, she was allowed to rest and was given medication in her eye. Try putting eye drops in a lions eyes...it is not easy!
